This is the first route of your journey; everyone starts here after getting their first pokemon and filling out their Trainer ID. It is a large open and exposed area of land complete with various shrubbery & trees scattered throughout. The path that goes through it is no more than well worn trail. There are no signs to show which way you should go to get to the village where this route eventually leads, so be careful not to get lost.

| Plains Village
When you do finally discover this village, it is worth it. The people here are friendly, and offer rest and supplies to the many weary rookies that come here. Be sure to heal your team at the Pokemon Center before heading on towards Route 2, it's dangerous out there & you'll need them to be in top form to compete with the many wild pokemon that live there.

Exiting the Plains village, you enter route 2. Not much different to begin with than route 1, but that soon changes as it becomes more rocky and barren beneath your feet as you get closer towards the Shadow Cave within this route.

So you have escaped the Shadow Cave’s depths and now feel you are up to taking on the first Gym Leader? Then what are you waiting for? Blanca has some decent normal pokemon that you must face in order to get that first badge, make sure to come prepared.

| Route 3
As if getting your first badge wasn’t a challenge, then maybe this route might be. It begins as a thickly forested area once exiting the East City, but then becomes less like a forest and more like a barren desert the closer you get to the Fire Cave’s location - though it lacks the tons of sand familiar with deserts in favour of solid rocks and sparse rough grasses that can survive the lack of water here.

| Fire Cave
It is really hot & dry in here, and those who report of its existence say that it is more like the inside of a volcano than a cave towards the inner depths… Fire and Rock type pokemon are plentiful, particularly as you go farther into this cave. If you don’t have a water pokemon to take them on if they prove a problem, you could be in trouble.

As strange as it may seem, immediately after emerging from the Fire Cave you come to a place that is amazingly lush and much like a green utopia full of grass type pokemon. There is a contest held here that you are required to participate in, win or loose. You can then progress onwards.

| Route 4
This place looks oddly familiar to route 1 in the ways of scenery and feel aside from a small pond near the center, but rest assured it is route 4 and you haven’t become lost. There’s a wide variety of pokemon here, and it’s the perfect place to train your team. There are also quite a few trainers lurking around this place looking for a decent opponent to challenge to a battle.

There are some Spinda here that need your help, but first you must find them. There’s rumours of a sinister person you must defeat too. Sounds dangerous and challenging, no problem for you, right? If you succeed, this route will eventually lead to the next city and the second Gym where the leader awaits your challenge impatiently.
